Once the new School of Dentistry building was a year old and warranty issues were closed, Optimized Systems was asked to optimize the 200,000 SF, multi-story building in order to resolve persistent operational problems and to improve the building’s overall performance and energy efficiency. Optimization required modifications to portions of the sequence of operations and substantial reprogramming of the Building Automation System (BAS) to resolve pressure problems and enable the building to perform up to its potential, including under extreme conditions. While optimization is still in process, many of the pressure and performance problems have already been resolved and the number of comfort complaints have been reduced drastically.
